What we do
Holistic & Integrative Medicine
“Integrative medicine has a larger meaning and mission, its focus being on health and healing rather than disease and treatment. It views patients as whole people with minds and spirits as well as bodies and includes these dimensions into diagnosis and treatment”
British Medical Journal, January 2001.
Disease or ill health arises as a result of imbalance, either from within the body or due to external factors in the environment such as chemicals, bacteria, viruses, parasites or heavy metals.
Here at Sydney Holistic & Cosmetic Medicine, rather than suppress symptoms, we support the body’s natural healing processes. Using the very best in medical advancements combined with a holistic therapies programme, we’ve helped make a significant difference in the quality of life for those suffering from chronic illnesses or disease.
We understand humans are complex and that our health is impacted by a number of factors.
Therefore, our focus is tailored to the individual addressing their physical, psychological, mental, social and spiritual needs. And combining the best of conventional and natural holistic therapies in order to maximise the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
What we specialise in
Functional medicine differs from conventional medicine in that it attempts to alleviate symptoms by identifying their underlying cause.
For example; if you go to the doctor and find out you have high cholesterol, you’ll be given medication to lower it. And you may be expected to take that drug for the rest of your life.
Functional medicine will investigate further into why your cholesterol is high and how to manage it naturally.
Like functional medicine, Naturopathy also investigates the cause, rather than the symptom by using natural products to promote overall well-being and prevention.
Conventional medicine may be best in acute and some chronic situations and surgery. But naturopathy may be the most beneficial option for a wide variety of acute and chronic health problems in a natural approach.
We use a number of investigative methods to find out what’s really going on in the body, mind and emotions.
These include integrative in-clinic screening, hair mineral analysis, saliva testing, allergy and sensitivity tests, referrals for blood tests and more.
Nutrition & Environmental Medicine
Nutritional and environmental medicine is concerned with the interaction of nutritional and environmental factors with human biochemistry and physiology, and the resulting symptoms and pathology.
Nutritional deficiencies, imbalances, and the presence of environmental toxins in the body can result in cellular dysfunction, resulting in possible health problems.
Our approach is aimed at correcting the underlying causes as well as providing symptomatic relief.
A treatment that combines traditional herbalism with modern clinical evidence-based herbal medicine.
Homeopathy is a natural medicine that uses specially prepared diluted remedies. This was first introduced by the Greek father of medicine Hippocrates.
These remedies can contain single constituent substances or a highly complex mixture of ingredients.
These medicines/remedies are believed to heal certain symptoms in a sick person and can also induce the same symptoms in a healthy person.
In Homoeopathy this is known as the “Law of Similars – what a substance can cause, it can cure” but very diluted.
Our integrative approach also extends to aesthetics. Including dermatology and non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
We take a holistic view, believing inner and outer beauty work hand in hand.
We offer a number of cutting-edge treatments, which combined with a personalised plan focusing on any internal imbalances, has helped many of our patients achieve long-lasting results.
Skin problems are multifactorial, with genetic predispositions, nutritional factors, hormonal influences, medication side effects, stress factors and gut health all playing a role.
We are passionate about helping you achieve your healthiest and vibrant best.
